Automotive industry newcomer Ineos has announced its first UK dealerships from which customers will be able to order the new Grenadier 4×4. The new SUV will be available in 160 shops worldwide, 24 of which are located in the UK.
By the end of 2022, Ineos plans to have established a network of around 200 Grenadier sales and service centres, including its existing dealer groups, four-wheel drive specialists and agricultural machinery dealers. In total the vehicle will be available for ordering in 50 different countries.
The first 24 UK sites will include dealers in Belfast, Edinburgh and West London and other provincial dealers near Blackburn, Lancashire and Beamish near Newcastle-upon-Tyne. There will also be shops in Nottingham, Portsmouth and Carlisle.
Ineos says it is working with retailers to get the outlets ready to welcome customers in the “next few months”, with sales agents and workshop technicians undergoing an “intensive” training programme. The first of the new sites will open in June, and Ineos plans to make sure that ‘most’ UK customers are within a 45-minute drive of the official sales and service centres.
To achieve this, Ineos also intends to complement its dealer network with 10 partners and Bosch Car Service accredited service points. All service centres in Scotland, including those in Stirling, Kilmarnock and Inverness, will eventually “support sales and test drive”.
“For over a year we have worked tirelessly to find retail partners in the UK who share our enthusiasm and excitement for the Grenadier,” said Gary Pearson, head of INEOS Automotive in the UK and MENA. “They understand four-wheel drive users and their requirements and have a proven track record of exceptional customer service. Together with these partners, we look forward to providing Grenadier customers with the advice, guidance and support they need.”
The new Grenadier has already been unveiled, promising block style and off-road capability similar to existing favourites such as the previous generation Land Rover Defender and Mercedes-Benz G-Class . Priced at just under £50,000, the newcomer will be available to order from May, although the first dealers won’t open until next month. Potential customers will be able to find their nearest Grenadier shop via an interactive map on the dedicated Grenadier website.
